Problem fixed: My trim switch was intermittent and now it’s not. It’s great to have reliable parts because cleaning and maintenance require you to use the switch pretty often.

It was OK however after further research I found out Yamaha made the fuel pump for this particular engine that you guys could not find from mercury.

Problem fixed: No water telltale after going over a sandbar.

Flushed engine from the telltale hose connection, didn’t get water flow. Removed the thermostat, water would flow out the opening. Flushed through the hose from the thermostat housing back into the engine, finally got flow to the prop exhaust port. Tried to use the “ear muffs on the water intake and started the engine, still no water through the telltale. When I received the water pump kit I took off the lower end and removed the water pump. It was packed with sand and the inlet was plugged. Cleaned all of the sand out and used the parts I ordered to rebuild the water pump. Put the lower end on the engine, put the “muffs on and started the engine, problem solved.

Problem fixed: Replace Powerhead

I purchased a remanufactured powerhead for my 125hp Mercury outboard. I was nervous that it would arrive with all necessary gaskets for reassembly. My salesman was not 100% sure, but thought it would all be there. I received the shipment within the week and it was in fact complete. I'm all reassembled and the motor fired right up. Only thing I didn't care for was that I feel the online break-in procedure description seems contradictory and difficult to follow. Overall a great experience.
