The most difficult part of this repair is the removal of the screw retaining the mechanical shift rod. Very difficult to get to. After that the rest was straight forward

Problem fixed: Poor water discharge

Replaced water pump. Difficulty rating based on aptitude. If you're not mechanically inclined this could be hard. Removed lower cowling, disconnected shift linkage, removed lower unit. 6 obvious bolts and one tucked up in cavity under trim plate. Be sure to disconnect pitot for speedo cable. Removed old pump/impeller and put in new unit. Disconnecting and re-attaching the shift linkage was by far the most difficult. Access is limited.

Problem fixed: dont have any problems with this motor just doing maintainance to keep it running well

cant give a detailed information i use the factory service manuel, I have freshend up carbs changed the water pump several times changed a leaking base gasket replaced the thermo stat seal and head o rings , have owned my evenrude115 intruder since new and will keep it till I cant fish any more it has been very dependable.

Problem fixed: Water in gearbox

Replaced prop seals first, no fix. Ordered shaft seals under water pump and replaced pump while there. Only problem was lining up gear shifting rod during reinstallation of lower unit. That was tricky.

I have done this before on other engines, they are all a little different. Pump kit came with good directions. The hardest part is the shift linkage. I found a good YouTube video that shows you just what to do.

New water pump and thermostat diaphragms. Sucked up some sand and scored up the pump wear plate pretty bad. Diaphragms we're deteriorated. Cools normally now.

Problem fixed: start on rabbit ears but not in water

I know nothing so will only do if instruction book says so. this is a motor we were taking 30 mile to sea. Did everything plugs, carbs, etc. Finally comp ck. number 3 cyl. zero pressure! number 1ok, other 2 a bit low. Pull power head! had it bored ten. rings pistons etc. This is the best running engine I ever had! Runs better than a new 115 I once had. Now I'm on a Johnson so we can have 2 on this 20' mako!

Problem fixed: low compression on 2 cylinders

2 cylinders had very low compression, pulled head off and seen the head gasket was blown between the 2 cylinders with weak compression. changed head gasket and now running like a dream.

Problem fixed: Replaced Power Head

I Replaced power head with no problems. Once I was done with the replacement I took the boat the a local boat shop to complete the adjustment and start the new motor. Just want to make sure that all the work I did was correct and they can better complete the final adjustments and fine tune it .
