Problem fixed: Bogging and poor running

When I started my outboard I notice gas leaking? 1. Pulled air pan and aluminum plate off. 2. Took off throttle blade linkage 3. Un-hooked throttle cable 4. Took off all three carburetors 5. Marked each carb as I took them off. 1,2,3 6. Opened #1 to find gaskets had deteriorate and pieces were all over bowl. 7. Took 2 and 3 apart to find similar situation. 8. Cleaned and replaced all parts in with parts in rebuild kits 9. Put everything back together Veroom...runs like a champ.

After more than half a dozen orders, one got botched. They sent the wrong item. Appears their supply chain is a bit slow as well. I've been waiting on a few parts for nearly 30 days. Communication with the customer could be improved by letting them know if they see delays in filling orders. Their prices are not the lowest but their website is easy to manuver. I'd rate them 3.5, above average.

Problem fixed: Motor was not starting very well after operating to warm up and shut down.

I suspected inadequate spark for ignition so I changed out the old coils , plug wires and spark plugs. Due to inclement weather I haven't been able to get the boat on the water to test the repairs.

Problem fixed: Has leaking down back of engine, poor starting and idling.

Had to rebuild carburetors. Realized the gas was leaking from the warped original plastic float chambers. Crowley was the only place I found OEM replacement aluminum chambers and they were cheaper than the original plastic ones I could get locally. I ordered the chambers, carb rebuild kits and a few other gaskets. When the chambers arrived there were instructions indicating the threads on the intermediate #26 orfices were different than in the plastic chambers. I emailed to get the correct part # for these and they returned with the correct # within an hour and reimbursed for the extra shipping cost. When I recieved the parts everything needed was there and the rebuild went smooth. Runs great!

Problem fixed: Power loss at high-end rpms.

Turned out to be damage (or wear) to the "reed" valves for one cylinder. Engine started and ran normally until attempting to get the boat "out of the hole" and up on plane. One set of valves were not closing properly on the compression stroke, allowing fuel/air mix to be pushed out of the chamber. Reeds were visibly different in that cylinder when the carburetors were removed. Replaced full set of reeds and problem resolved.
