Problem fixed: Vacuum leaks, blown head gasket, exhaust leaks, lower unit water leak.
Remove, starter, carburetor, fuel pump, coils, sparkplugs. Remove throttle and shift linkage, unhook hoses and grounds. Pull powerhead. Pull head, water jacket cover, exhaust cover; I broke a bolt ☹, remove, intake cover, intake manifold, Reed valves. Inspect bearings, crankshaft, pistons and rings; all in amazing good shape. 👍. Replace upper and lower oil seals and lower o ring. All gaskets clean to bare Shiney metal on all surfaces. At this point I had to repair the broken bolt, I broke off an extract tool inside it after drilling, had to weld a nut on to get it out. Had to jb weld repair the case and retap the hole. Then gasket seal when needed and replaced all gaskets. Then 4 oil seals on lower end 3 o rings and install chrome water pump. Now I'm working on new wiring and ignition.

Problem fixed: Dirty carbs due to ethanol fuel
Overhauled two carburetors on 83 Johnson 50 HP. Had Johnson factory service manual, making it a very easy repair. All necessary parts including gaskets, seals, float, needle valve and seat, and even BB shot plug and knockout plugs were included in overhaul kits. Took a couple hours including remove and reinstall the carbs, and cleaning them out thoroughly including all orifices, jets and all passageways. Only other items needed were gaskets for air silencer cover and air silencer base.

Had a chance to buy an awesome outboard-cheap....but I had to get it running. The primer was not putting out gas hardly at all and the carburetor was completely stopped up. So I got the new primer and the carburetor re-build kit. Put the primer in easy enough and watched a couple of you-tube videos on rebuilding/cleaning the carburetor. Now she sounds great!!!
