Problem fixed: Water pump, and diaphragm fuel pump

Repairs ongoing. Water pressure erratic. Removed oil injection system. Runs awhile then shuts down and won't start until next day. Troubleshooting ecm. No ignition spark on 150 hp ecm. Installed 200 hp ecm and got it running. Still need lake test.

Problem fixed: Full service tune-up (used boat)

I checked all the boxes on this used boat with unknown service history. I replaced everything from spark plugs, thermostats, fuel pump, both fuel filters, fuel line, and some miscellaneous missing/broken items from the cowling. Crowley had it all!

I will buy from Crowley again, but only when it is specific engine parts. It was impossible to find information about rigging for the Mercury engines on the Crowley website. There is a rigging section, but it only applies to Yamaha and Johnson.

Problem fixed: Poor acceleration, cavitation

Rebuilt the OEM stator by welding vanes and polishing. Replaced standard impeller with high skew impeller, replaced control cable boots, and replaced wear ring.

Problem fixed: Routine maintenance

I replaced the spark plugs (NGK BPZ8HS-10), gap confirmed to .040" and torqued to 20 ft. lb. It took longer getting the tools than it did to do the job. I also replaced the fuel filter. This outboard has a spin on filter very similar to an oil filter on a four stroke. (Be sure to put a little oil on the gasket). The fuel filter is very accessible and super easy to change.

Water pump impeller and gasket replacement as the overheating alarm was going off and no water was coming out of the small hole on the engine indicating no water was being pumped.
