Answer:
Greetings, This rebuild kit will not fit your model. Unfortunately your specific model doesn't come with a fuel pump diaphragm kit and you would have to look on the fuel pump section of your model's diagrams and piece out everything you need from the kit individually. The link to that section is listed below. Thank you https://www.crowleymarine.com/mercury-outboard/parts/2950_90.cfm?mdl=EOSQKI --

Problem fixed: Engine bogging down and primer pump not getting hard (easy….😳)
After several trips and many long starts of countless pulls of the rope on my 40HP Mercury Tiller steer 2 stroke , it would take forever to crank my outboard as it I was flooding it. So naturally I would try to start with throttle wide open. As this gradually worsened, I decided that I needed to get to the bottom of the issue. After combing through many YouTube videos and online forums, I kept circling back to the primer bulb would not stay pressured up and the engine would be flooded. I finally bit the bullet and ordered the fuel pump diaphragm kit. (QUICKSILVER MARINE PARTS & ACCESSORIES 21-857005A 1 DIAPHRAGM KIT) I found an obvious issue once I pulled my pump apart. This kit was exactly was I had been needing for a long time. I’ll probably changes this kit preventatively on a 5 year schedule now.

Problem fixed: Carburetor Rebuild - Fuel pump rebuild
Boat was in storage for 15+ years and had the OEM gaskets, float, needles, etc. We ordered three rebuild kits for after cleaning to bring them back to health. Irony is when we checked the idle/mixture screw positions. they were all really off from Mercury specs which explained some of the rough idle, bogging, etc when we first tried to start and run it. The carburetors were actually pretty clean when we tore them down. Fuel pump was the same but the diaphram and components were pretty worn and definitely needed help. Again, this is not a terrible hard project but everything came with diagrams and instructions to ensure they went back together as intended.

Problem fixed: poor water flow thru discharge port, (pee hole)
dropping the lower unit is fairly easy, 6 bolts/nuts. Note; two forward nuts cannot be removed completly until separation of about 3/8" . Installing new water water pump kit was fairly easy, taking care to use only the gaskets that are the same as those you remove. I used patroleum jelly to lube the shaft seal and pump impeller. Take care to twist the impeller into metal housing same rotation as that of the motor, mine is clockwise looking down. When reassembling lower unit go slow until shifter and water tube are aligned. This was a challenge for me, had to have help holding while aligning and engaging slowly. I now have good water flow.

Problem fixed: Running rich, smells like gas badly
My engine smell liked gas terribly and was running rough, sometimes even had low poor. Found vacuum fuel pump to be leaking and letting fuel run down the line out of engine compartment. I beleive this to have also caused a vacuum leak, which induced a rich running condition at idle. The pump was rebuilt this winter with an aftermarket kit, so I rebulit it again with an OEM kit from Crowley. Same price! Engine is back to running excellent!

Problem fixed: Leaky lower unit
Went to pull lower unit and found that the drive shaft was stuck in the fly wheel. Had to remove OB from the boat and turn it upside down, suspending it from the lower unit. Using a grease dissolver and some wooden wedges I was able break the drive shaft loose. After that it was just putting everything back together. Just a side note, I never have worked on an OB before, but I sure learned from the experience.

Problem fixed: Low compression number 1 cylinder
I had low compression in the number one cylinder of my 1995 Merc 90hp two stroke outboard. After being on the fence on how to repair or replace it I decided on buying a long block for it. After a month or so of searching prices ,costs and so on I settled on buying one from Crowley Marine. The reason is simple, bottom line was customer service and satisfaction from their customers. I could have bought cheaper including install but decided it against it for that reason also. Believe me I researched the heck out of Crowley through the internet before I made my choice. I did the complete power head change out in about 10 hours or so. Take pictures as you go so you know how to put everything back together too. Also buy a OEM repair manual and nothing else !! Believe me big help! Ok got the new long block installed , lower unit back on and was all proud of myself. Set up the basic timing, this is where you NEED the OEM manual for sure. I filled the barrel full of water with the lower unit in it and was all ready to start it. The motor turned over, compression, wants too fire but wont run. Ok when this happens everybody knows that feeling. I double check fuel supply , filter, lines and so on. all is fine. Well you know what , if you read the owners manual and FOLLOW their directions on how to start your motor it just may run ! I pushed the key in to prime carbs , counted to ten while thinking in the back of my mind I messed up some where and surprise, I just tapped the key and she fired right up ! I have never had a outboard start so easily ever all the time. End of story is do your home work and buy a long block. Really not hard to do.

Problem fixed: Failed Cylinder Sleever - COMPLETE rebuild
After discovering a failed cylinder sleeve on my 99 Force 40HP (by Merc.), I decided to do a COMPLETE overhaul including new forged pistons, rings, all gaskets, fuel hoses, paint (cowl & leg), decals, and otherwise. Crowley has been key to sourcing specific parts that aren't readily available anymore, or finding part numbers and part specs for parts that aren't available anymore (e.g. the 2.5" partially threaded exhaust manifold bolts). At this point, I just need to reconnect the electricals and will be seeing if she fires. wish me luck!
