Problem fixed: Motor would not run continuity
Cleaned carb and still had problems running. Looked for parts to rebuild but they weren't available any longer. So I ordered an upgraded replacement carburator. Installed and made a few adjustments and was on the water again

Problem fixed: Stop wiring harness was chewed by a mouse.
Old damaged wiring was removed from the handle shifter and new installed. Closer inspection of the harness showed that this was shorting out even before the mouse did the damage. The motor would cut out for no apparent reason and would not start. Noticed that the wiring harness was chaffed where it entered the hinged handle. We will now have more confidence with this motor.

Problem fixed: sierra impeller failure
installed new impeller kit and housing. After 5 min running, water stopped pumping. Impeller had failed and its key escaped the notch and grooved 3drive shaft. Purchased new shaft and repeated. Same thing happened again. I measured the impeller housing and determinec it was about .030" less than older housings, causing the impeller to be gripped so tightly that its hub failed(fractured).

Problem fixed: Engine would not run above idle
Carbon buildup in the exhaust tube completely blocked exhaust. Needed to be cleaned so lower unit came off and that was completed. Replaced the water pump impeller as part of the job. Engine is back to running normally.

Problem fixed: Low water stream
Towards the end of last season I noticed the motor wasnt pissing water as strong as it should. Also noticed that it took longer before a stream formed and the water was hotter than normal. Decided to changed water pump impeller. Removed the lower unit and found a piece of water pump lodged in the discharge tube. Replaced water pump, and a few other plastic and rubber pieces. No problem.

Problem fixed: Hard start and poor to no idle
Got this engine home and expected dirty carbs. Closer inspection also revealed the idle mixture screws on both carbs were snapped off by previous heavy handed mechanic. Upon disassemble i found a missing gasket as well as a small amount of dirt in the carbs. Cleaned and blew everything out, replaced 4 tired and or missing gaskets, the new idle screws and tension springs and serviced the lower unit and is good as new. All for $60 worth the parts and less than 2 hours if my time.

Problem fixed: No water on telltail and fuel leaking from primer bladder
Long story short. Carb rebuild for diaphragm of primer, then new Impeller, new water feed- copper tube, and lastly the failed grommet on the tube engine side. All shipped in 3 days including cross shipping and arrived two more days later. I never review, but for them I will. Congrats Crowley Marine, you stand above and beyond in my book. And I am in sales, so that says something
