Problem fixed: Carburetor rebuild

Followed online DYI video on how to rebuild a carburetor for a 1984 Evinrude 15hp. After I rebuilt the carburetor and reinstalled it, the motor started right away and only needed some fine tuning of the slow speed idle adjustment.

Have a 1975 Johnson 9.9 that hasn’t been started for 3 years. Needed to rebuild carburetor and replace water pump. Got near instant response by e mail confirming the part numbers I wanted were the correct ones, ordered around 4 pm and parts arrived in Toronto in less than 24 hours! Awesome! BTW, my little 9.9 runs like a charm again. Thnx!

Problem fixed: Would not run more than 10 seconds/ no cooling water

Rebuilt water pump first, rebuilt carburetor next. It took a little ingenuity to get the carb mounted again. The one mounting stud is pretty hard to get to. All put back together and she started on the sixth pull, after being stored for three full years. Made me feel like I might be able to fix a rainy day. (You got a parts kit for that?)

Problem fixed: Hard starting and low compression on on cyclinder and lower unit seals.

I am experienced on car engines but new to 2 cycle outboards so this is a learning experience for me. Luckly I got the manuals with it which match Crowley parts lists exactly. This project is taking longer than expected due to HoneyDo's interference :). Finding the parts so easily is making the process much more enjoyable.

Perfect parts for 1975 outboard were promptly delivered, every time.

Problem fixed: Overheating

The motor was overheating. Replaced the water pump impeller and it was still over heating. Replaced the thermostat and that fixed the problem. Thanks for the fast shipping of parts.

Got the product just as described in shipping information. I would recommend Crowley Marine to anyone. I would also recommend that they give the customer different shipping options.

Problem fixed: Sitting for a long time and acorn husks in the motor. Darn critters!! Chewed a few wires too. Still had spark. However, carb smelled like sewer. No starting this message for.

Rebuilt the carb and with a little liquid tape, motor purrs like a kitten!!
