Problem fixed: Impeller wasn't operating and no water coming out like it sgould
Removed 5 bolts on lower unit. Removed water impeller housing and noticed Finns missing on impeller. Replaced with new impeller and everything worked as it should.

Problem fixed: Engine quit peeing
Dropped the lower unit from engine (2) bolts on each side of the lower unit, and (2) bolts on the bottom side “hidden bolts” and the lower unit will come off with a little wiggling. After removing the lower unit I took the pump housing off (4) bolts and you have access to everything you need to replace. Pretty easy job, that can be done with minimal tools.

1999 Yamaha S150TXRX

Problem fixed: Motor would go into safe mode over 3500 rpms
First changed the water pump impeller. Then the more difficult task of taking the heads and water jacket covers off and cleaning the cooling system waterways out there were a few places that were clogged up solid this took quite a while to clean. Taking the Port side water jacket cover off we broke 9 bolts had to use visegrips and heat to get them out. Putting it back together put new thermostats ,thermo switches , thermosensor, spark plugs and new coils. The motor runs great. On a side note I took it to a certified yamaha mechanic he had it for almost three months and never could figure out way it was going into safe mode. I think they just wanted to sell me a new four stroke motor.
