Problem fixed: Not pumping water, and fuel prime broken
Changing the impeller took around 30 minutes. The most important part is to disconnect the shift linkage in the power head first then remove the lower unit bolts. The choke knob on my motor was broken off. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to take the old one out. I took the front cover off the carb. There was one set screw that holds the choke knob in place, I backed that out. Overall not bad

Problem fixed: water in foot
Too complicated, but changed 4 seals, water pump impeller because I was in there, and gas filter when I finally got it. Also changed rubber boot on linkage which had two holes on it. Watch video on youtube. Put 10 lbs of air pressure on foot to locate any leaks. This will be really helpful.

Problem fixed: Broken swivel bracket
My motor was hit on the trailer while stopped at a light. Rather involved repair. Lower unit, mid section, and power head needed to be removed. I rated this hard just because of the time involved. If you have experience in mechanical repair this isn’t too difficult, just take lots of pictures during disassembly.

Problem fixed: Motor would go into safe mode over 3500 rpms
First changed the water pump impeller. Then the more difficult task of taking the heads and water jacket covers off and cleaning the cooling system waterways out there were a few places that were clogged up solid this took quite a while to clean. Taking the Port side water jacket cover off we broke 9 bolts had to use visegrips and heat to get them out. Putting it back together put new thermostats ,thermo switches , thermosensor, spark plugs and new coils. The motor runs great. On a side note I took it to a certified yamaha mechanic he had it for almost three months and never could figure out way it was going into safe mode. I think they just wanted to sell me a new four stroke motor.

Problem fixed: Routine maintenance
Replacing the fuel filter is very simple. It requires removing the plastic housing and replacing the old filter with the new. Good thing to do periodically to prevent being stuck out on the lake with a clogged filter not allowing fuel to get the carburetor.
