Problem fixed: Pulled powerhead and mid section to clean

I learned that the gaskets are critical. I had two tears in the new gaskets I put on (I wasn't careful), and when put back together, water was spraying out of the side of the engine where the tears were. Also, because of the 30 year age of the aluminum block engine, some bolts will strip very easily. Be careful. I've had to buy an odd-sized drill bit, a tap and thread repair inserts for a few bolt holes. I went with Helicoil, although there are newer, but more expensive, options available.
