Problem fixed: High engine temps- audible alarm sounding
Removed lower unit and found as expected- impeller deteriorated. Straightforward repair as long as you pay attention to the details. Install the new impeller with the same "twist" of the paddles to ensure it pumps water properly. Use a small amount of petroleum jelly on the housing and the paddles to ease installation and lubes it during initial startup before water gets into the system.
