Problem fixed: hard start and sometimes no start
The motor was a converted engine which had a VRO pump that handled both oil and gas through one pump. It was converted to a mixed gas system which the old pump seemed not to handle resulting in both limited starting ability and then poor acceleration as fuel was not been pumped adequately. The new pump has repaired this issue. It required the removal of the old pump and installation of the new pump on a hand-built bracket attached to the engine. We also replaced the fuel filter and quick connect for the main fuel line from the tank to the engine..

Problem fixed: not pumping enough fuel
converted my customers 75 hp Johnson to early style fuel pump after a previous owner deleted the VRO oil tank and went with gas/oil system. This usually results in failure of the old VRO pump, due to lack of lubrication for the shuttle pins inside the oil side of the pump. the failure shows up as a greatly reduced rate of fuel flow, often to the extent that the engine quits due to lack of fuel. installing the earlier type of fuel pump, restores full function, though you have to mix gas/oil at a 50:1 ratio.

Fuel pump was fairly simple to install. I had a cracked hose which needed replaced and actually took me more time to feed the hose through the engine compartment than the installation itself.
