Problem fixed: Loss of power and fuel.

Disconected battery terminals.. Removed engine top cover as well as the side cover. Removed starter removed hoses from carb, distribution header and electric primer/choke hoses. Removed hose, primer bulb, and clamps from fuel tank to motor and fuel pump. Removed fuel pump. Cleaned all surface areas where gaskets would come into contact when replacements started. Cleaned all bolts of dirt and old thread locker, ran tap I to bolt holes to lean internal threads. Installed new fuel pump replace fuel supply hose, and a new fuel filter to the fuel pump. Installed fuel line to a new brass distraution header, installed new hoses to carburetor and distrabution header, installed new hoses to electric primer / choke, reconectedand reinstalled starter, replaced throttle linkage bushings, and readjusted linkage to Johnson 50 horse specs, ballanced carbs. Reinstalled side cover and battery. Ables. Primed fuel pump with fuel hose primer bulb. Verified fuel bowl had fuel in it. Put water supply to engine water intake. Verified shift linkage at cancel was in nuetrel. Place key in egnition, pressed in to the prime/choke position and cranked engine several times. Engin started, warmed up, idol speed needed adjustment, shut off motor. Removed clamp that held throttle cabel to motor, and restarted engine, turned out throttle cable adjustment to bring idol into spec. Shut off motor. Disco ectedwater. With the new fuel pump and the other parts described, there's a much improved operation of the motor over all

Problem fixed: Idle linkage cam rollers worn out

Idle was bad engine would die at idle. Cam rollers where worn down. Replaced. Haven't tried it yet. Going to go ahead and clean carbs through out winter. I'm sure that will fix it. Thanks Crowley.

Problem fixed: Crank no spark

My youngest son purchased this boat not running first off I am not a boat engine mechanic but an automotive mechanic pulled spark plugs wire off plug installed spark tester no spark checked stator and timing base both tested good I had purchased a power module and ignition coil installed both pieces still no spark disconnected rectifier got spark replaced rectifier engine started but putting clumps of oil out the exhaust replaced carburetors ran pretty good put the Boat in the water and would not go over 4 miles an hour and rpms would max out at 2500 removed flywheel replaced stator and timing base since timing base had a weird wear mark started motor ran good out of the water put it back in the water and motor started backfiring pulled it back out of the water called the establishment I purchased the ignition coil and power module and would not do anything for me the parts were only a week old so I purchased an oem power module and ignition coil put the boat in the water and now you have to hold onto your hat I did install the new rollers for the carburetor and linkage since there was a lot of slop in the shifter and the rollers were missing the outer shell

Problem fixed: low compression/ only running on one cylinder

running poorly, compression was low on the top cylinder, pulled head and inspected cylinders to find bad head gasket, thermostat seemed to be junk, i believe the motor overheated and blew head gasket. cylinders looked ok. replaced head gasket and thermostat. Running good now. MORAL to the story...change your thermostats once in a while.

Problem fixed: running rough

Engine was running rough and hard to start. Replaced fuel filter, lower unit grease and ran a can of engine tuner through the engine. Now it starts right up and runs great.

Found the broken pieces lying in bottom of engine housing, investigated and located origin, went to Crowley Marine website and easily found schematic / part number. Ordered and received in a couple days. Included easy install instructions. Very happy with their website, service, and quality. Not the first time I used CM for hard to find parts.
