Problem fixed: Primer fuel pump housing was broken.
The plastic housing was broken,and it is impossible to get this part here in Germany. Crowley Marine had it ,and i got it delivered in less than a week! I repaired the primer pump and my "OLD LADY" is running great again. Crowley Marine is my saver!

My system to prime the engine in cold start was leaking. Pulled up the diagram and easily identified the broken part with the help of their diagram. While repairing the primer bypass valve I noticed a bushing was gone on my throttle linkage. Purchased that also and over all its been an excellent experience.

Started with water pump but found problem with exhaust volute gaskets once inside lower unit. Replaced inlet screen and anode due to deterioration.

Problem fixed: leaking fuel from the fogger intake on the primer solenoid.
On the primer solenoid there is a red Schrader valve that is called the "A-B" switch. This is used for fogging the engine when winterizing the engine. The switch is also used for helping start the engine after the long winter months. When in the normal position "A" it can be hard to start after the engine has been sitting for a while. Switching it to "B" sends a larger amount of fuel to the carbs. After starting and running for a few minutes sometimes as much as 15 minutes you put the switch back in "A" position. This is a manual switch that is positioned in the primer solenoid which is very expensive. I was leaking fuel around the switch because it had a crack in it due to stress. I easily pulled the switch out because it is held in by an o ring. I snapped the new switch in and presto no more leaks. I searched many places and found that I could only buy the primer solenoid. That is until I ran across Crowley Marine. The parts breakdown was so simple. I immediately recognized the part scrolled down to the number and saw the price and was filled with joy. Thanks Crowley Marine!!!!
