Problem fixed: Oil sensor came loose.
Replaced the oil reservoir which has the low oil sensor in the bottom of it. Not extremely difficult but was hard to get to the bottom where the hose attaches. It fixed the oil alarm issue though so I am happy.

Problem fixed: low oil sending unit stuck on creating alarm from control panel
The engine 2-stroke oil tank has a low oil sensor in the bottom of it and can't be replaced without replacing the whole tank. If you have a steady alarm going off but the oil is not low it is most likely the oil sending unit. You can check this by locating the 2 blue wires coming from the bottom of the oil tank and disconnecting them, you will most likely have to drop the lower cover to reach the connectors. If the alarm goes out when you disconnect them then the sensor is bad. You can test the continuity of the 2 wires from the sensor with a multi-meter, if the tank is full and there is continuity between the 2 wires the tank will have to be replaced. Replacement is all-in-all an easy repair, hardest part is dumping the oil out after the bolts for the tank have been removed!

Problem fixed: Oil leak from two stroke oil container and faulty two stroke low oil sensor/alarm
Removed the engine cover and identified the leak which was coming from the fixing screw position right on the original plastic die cast seam. Referred to correct schematic and ordered replacement parts. Removed lower covers to gain access to mounting points. Dismounted old oil tank and easily removed the mounting bushings and dip stick, rubber grommet etc. Fitted new parts to tank then installed before connecting clamps etc. All in all saved 50% of quoted price here in South Australia for an easy repair - all I needed to do was patiently wait for a week or so for the parts. Thanks Crowley Marine another job well done.
