I know your suppliers are also lacking, but parts was not complete when shipped causing another 2 week delay for me to get on the water. Not very satisfied, however the best place for me to shop.

Problem fixed: Renew bellows on transom as maintenance item

The biggest problem with this job is that Merc puts everything together with red Loctite, even the smallest screw.... so you can't get anything apart without using heat and doing damage. When doing this job for the first time be aware that you will need at least a smallpropane or Mapp gas torch to soften the red Loctite (550 deg F) and you WILL damage some plastic and rubber items during dis-assembly. If you don't use heat you wiill shear off fasteners and permanently damage threads. But when you do use heat you will melt plastic parts and cook rubber seals ...and therefore you will wind up replacing more than you thought you would have to. Don't forget the seals on the upper shift shaft which are a notorious failure item and a direct leak into the U-joint bellows and shift cable void.... and which rusts your leg input shaft and ruins that seal as well as your gimbal bearing. After you have done the job the first time you can re-assemble WITHOUT red Loctite and WITHOUT Merc Perfect Seal which is hard-setting Form-A-Gasket. Instead you will use Form-A-Gasket Type 2, which is soft setting, non-hardening and BLUE Loctite. After that things are pretty straightforward to service for an advanced DIY'er. My advice is that if the job has never been done before take it to a pro who has a goodly stock of dealer parts on hand. After you have had it done once, it will be MUCH easier and more straight forward to tackle in your own back yard or garage. He'll charge you a lot, but pay it with a smile because it is a NOT a simple job the first time through. Use only OEM parts because it is a big job and there is no point in going cheap when you are in that deep.

excellent all parts there and arrived on time
