Because of the pandemic there was some parts that were backordered, took longer than normal to receive them. Everything came as ordered. I called them and they were friendly and courteous. I will be ordering parts from them in the future. WM

Problem fixed: Low water flow out of tattletale

I took the lower unit off thinking I was going to put a new impeller in the water pump and the drive shaft was loose it had damaged the water pump housing. I dug deeper into the lower unit discovered the bearings on the drive shaft were bad, the drive shaft was damaged where it had been rubbing on the water pump housing, I didn't replace the drive shaft I believe it will be ok but maybe replacing. The lower unit is pretty basic if you are a mechanic two special tools required, spanner wrench for the two retainer nuts and a bearing puller. Retainer nuts: one is on the drive shaft the other is on the output shaft behind the impeller. Bearings: Drive shaft lower bearing need to be pulled into place I froze mine first and made a puller out of all thread and a couple of washers the other bearing on the drive shaft I heated in a oven and it slid right in to place. The yoke gear shift can be a little bugger to put in. One will probably break the retainer nuts getting them out as they can be froze in place I had to drill the drive shaft retainer out and take it out in pieces. If you are not a mechanic I would take the lower unit in and have a boat mechanic repair it.

Easy to order parts online. But if you choose the free 5 to 7 day delivery service. Plan on waiting well over two weeks for your order, with emails apologizing for your order taking longer to process chain usual. I'll probably just pay more at local marina than wait.
