Product Description

As the original equipment manufacturer, Mercury has the benefit of engineering resources and the experience to remanufacture a true marine‐based engine. Every Pro‐Series Longblock is completely remanufactured with components suitable for marine applications.

With a 1‐Year Factory Limited Warranty, Pro‐Series Longblocks from Mercury Remanufacturing can be installed with complete confidence. Major Assembly Protection is also available from Mercury Product Protection.

NOTE: When replacing an MIE Longblock, it may be necessary to transfer the original Aluminum Oil Pan to the replacement block for additional corrosion protection and to ensure a proper dipstick location.

Pro Series Longblock - 5.0L - Remanufactured 8M0057443 remanufactured Remanufactured PRO‑Series Longblock GM 8 Cyl., 5.0 Liter Gen+ V8 (Left‑Hand Standard Rotation) with remanufactured Vortec cylinder heads. This longblock is packaged in a one‑way container. No core or container charges apply. Replaces 2002‑2015 Vortec GM 5.0L Multi‑Port Fuel Injected MPI sterndrive and inboard marine engines. This block has provosions for a CPS (Crank Position Sensor). There are no provisions for a mechanical fuel pump. It is equipped with a harmonic balancer so it can be used with 1998 and newer carbureted engines if the hole for the crank position sensor is plugged. This engine is interchangeable with 863660R02.
