Problem fixed: Overtightened and split the do not remove plug

I overtightened the do not remove plug and split it. Crowley marine was the only place I could find a new one and the o ring that goes with it. It took a while to come from USA to Australia but still pretty good during covid. All the parts were spot on and got me going again, communication from Crowley marine about the order was fantastic.

I found them online as I live in Australia and was very pleased find parts for my 1989 OMC that are not available here. So impressed when they arrived by fedex in a week.

Problem fixed: Outdrive Side "do not remove' plug leaking

In my case the plug was cracked and leaking . I was able to undo and remove the backing plate with out taking the leg off. So I suspect the cracked plug was because it was not aligned properly last time. I found a long bolt and fitted it to the plate giving me enough length to glue it in place. To align the centre it fitted the new plug without the rings. Then tapped the bolt so as to make the plug a snug fit. A few drops of super glue, fed it in pushed in the plug and held it in place for as long as I could. Very gentley removed the bolt and the base stayed in place, refitted up the rings, a little sealer and original bolt and presto all sealed. Restuck the cobra logo with the same sealer.
