Will Quicksilver oil filters 35-866340Q03 and 35-866340K be interchangeable for my 4.3 Merc v6 carbuerated engine ? The engine has the K filter and I just purchased a Q03 filter so Im confused ! Thanks Email donbradley3@gmail.com Thanks

Answer:

Both of those part numbers are basically the same item. The one with the K is a Mercury Brand item. The one with the Q is a Mercury Quicksilver Brand Item.

I would order again. A little concerned to learn the items were not in stock and would have to be brought in from the manufacturer. This was after my credit card had been charged for it. With the supply chain broken I was concerned about a very long wait for my parts. Luckily it was only a week. One of my engine coolant hoses had a plastic piece in it with a drain. It was.put in backwards and was interfering with my fuel filter. A minor issue that was quickly fixed with a couple of new clamps. Overall.....very pleased, and I must say, a very good website for information on finding the correct part for your boat/engine.

Their parts breakdowns are very good, but in my particular application, they were not all the correct part #s. Their pricing is very reasonable. Problem fixed: Alernator belt broke and soon discovered that one bracket was broken and the other one cracked.

Lower alternator bracket failed and upper alternator bracket cracked which wrecked the alternator belt so battery couldn't charge and power steering was disabled. Crowley Marine had the only upper bracket I could find and provided it with a good price and free shipping.
