Answer:

Mercury does not offer an installation manual for starter solenoids. If you need help with wiring, then you would probably need a wiring diagram from a service manual.

Received my part quickly and as advertised. Turns out it was not the problem but, it was a process of elimination that lead me the real problem.

Problem fixed: Starter would not engage

Process of elimination starting at the key switch to the silanoied , power from the switch to the starter. Found the problem was the battery, showing sufficient voltage but didn't have the amperage current to activate the starter completely.
