Problem fixed: Pivot tube corroded causing hard steering

Removed the old steering cable, pounded out the old pivot tube with a sledge and a push bar. Engine was attached to engine hoist for support after removal. Then assembled the parts and reinstalled new pivot tube with a rubber mallet. Reinstall steering cable and back to easy steering

Problem fixed: no start, backfire on attempt to start.

No start condition . Had compression and fuel and spark. What’s not to like? Checked TDC mark and voila “way off”. Spun the Flywheel. Replaced the keyway . Back together and vroom ! but wait ! theres more it died . no start again! Sheared the key. The key is ... Genuine mfg parts and clean the mating surfaces free of smeared metal from the last key and torque to spec or you could be in deep $h!+ . luckily it all worked out and the econo stratos is alive again. Thanks to Crowley for clarifying the parts needed.

Problem fixed: Rusted shut tilt tube

Remove steering cable,Remove Motor from transom,seperate brackets. Then pound out old tilt tube that was rusted in. Cleaned and greased everything. Tube slid right in, put brackets back together, reinstalled Motor to transom,and reconnected steering cable. Worked great
