Preface
This Tab Housing Gearcase Kit is used to service all CR, CO, CD, CU, CE and some ES V-6 engines. The parts included are for retaining the bearing housing in the gearcase using tabs instead of retaining rings. Other parts from the previous gearcase can be used unless damaged.
To the Installer
The Installation of this kit requires the use of Special Service Tools and complex service procedures.
This kit should be installed by a trained service technician using current technical literature. These instructions are not intended for consumer use.
Give these installation instructions to the future owner. They contain information vital to the continued safe use of the product.
To the New Owner
Retain these instructions with your Owner's/Operator's Manual. They contain installation information for reference.
Refer to the appropriate Service Manual of the model being serviced for disassembly of gearcase. Refer to the Service Manual for "ES" and newer models for reassembly and testing of gearcase.

Remove and discard original bearing housing assembly (A), retaining rings (B), retainer plate (C), four screw and seal assemblies (D), anode screws (F) and damaged gearcase. Reuse or replace anode (E) as appropriate.
Use the bearing housing O-ring, the two anode attachment screws, six gearcase attachment screws and one washer supplied in kit.
