In the past there were a few aftermarket companies that didn't produce quality parts and gave a bad name to the entire industry.  However their bad business practices have been weeded out and in test after test aftermarket parts are just as good as OEM.  And in some situations, they even end up being better.  Not all aftermarket parts are created equal, however.  We are constantly updating our product catalog to include only the best, most reliable products.

Did you know that some aftermarket parts are made in the same facilites as OEM parts? It’s true. For example if Evinrude has another company produce a certain piston they have exclusive rights with the manufacturer for Evinrude pistons.  However there isn't anything stopping the manufacturer from producing Mercury pistons for another company.  In essence, pistons under the Sierra brand name for Mercury Engines may have been manufactured by the OEM manufacturer for Evinrude. This is the way the industry works – and you can benefit.
